A Comprehensive Approach to Recovery
At Disciples Retreat, we provide a structured, faith-based program designed to help men transition from addiction to stable, independent living. Our 6-month residential program integrates housing, life skills development, counseling, and community engagement to create a holistic path to recovery.
Transitional Housing
A safe and supportive environment for men aged 18+ recovering from addiction. Our program offers:
-
Full-time residential support for men with employment, Centrelink assistance, or other financial means.
-
A stable and structured living space essential for long-term recovery and reintegration.
-
A nurturing community where residents can rebuild their lives with faith and discipline.

Academic Insight: According to AIHW's report "Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services in Australia 2018-19" (2020), stable housing is a key factor in maintaining long-term sobriety. Programs like Disciples Retreat help bridge the gap between rehabilitation and reintegration by providing structured housing and essential support.
Life Skills Development
We equip residents with practical skills for independent living, including:
-
Cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
-
Budgeting, financial planning, and time management.
-
Job placement assistance, resume building, and interview preparation.
-
Basic computer literacy and workplace readiness training.

Research Evidence: A University of Sydney (2019) study on "Recovery Capital" found that life skills and job training significantly improve long-term recovery outcomes. These essential skills enable individuals to regain independence and contribute meaningfully to society.
Counseling & Mentorship
To support emotional and psychological well-being, we offer:
-
Individual and group counseling sessions.
-
Guidance from experienced mentors who have successfully navigated the recovery journey.
-
A structured accountability system to promote long-term sobriety.
Research Insight: The AIHW 2021 report found that ongoing counseling significantly reduces the risk of relapse. Mentorship has been proven to provide critical emotional support that sustains recovery beyond the initial rehabilitation phase.
